Questions

Everything You Might Ask

Freeze-dried food is unfamiliar to most people. Here is what we get asked most often.

What actually is freeze-drying?

The food is frozen solid, then placed under vacuum. At very low pressure ice does not melt — it sublimates, turning straight from solid to vapour. The water leaves without ever becoming liquid, so the structure stays standing. That is why a freeze-dried strawberry still looks like a strawberry.

How is it different from dehydrated or sun-dried?

Dehydrated usually means hot-air dried at 60 to 80 degrees. The heat darkens the food, drives off the aroma and leaves it chewy. Sun drying exposes it to dust and insects and fades the colour. Freeze-drying applies no heat at all, so colour, aroma and shape survive.

Why does it cost more?

The equipment is expensive, each cycle runs for many hours, and it uses a great deal of electricity for a relatively small amount of product. There is no shortcut that gives the same result.

Is freeze-dried fruit healthy?

It is fruit with the water removed and nothing added. Because the water is gone, the sugars that were naturally present are more concentrated by weight — so a gram of freeze-dried mango is sweeter than a gram of fresh mango. No sugar has been added; there is simply less water diluting it.

How do I rehydrate it?

Cover with warm water for five to ten minutes depending on thickness. Vegetables can also go straight into soups, dals and curries and will rehydrate as the dish cooks.

Can I use it in baking?

Yes, and it is better than fresh fruit for it. Fresh berries add moisture to a batter and bleed colour. Freeze-dried fruit adds flavour and colour without a drop of liquid, which is why professional bakers use it in buttercream and ganache.

Can I grind it into a powder?

Yes. A few pulses in a dry grinder turns any of the fruit into a fine powder — useful for smoothies, milkshakes, frosting and natural colouring.

How long does it keep?

Sealed and kept dry, several months at room temperature. No refrigeration needed at any point.

My jar has gone soft. What happened?

It has taken on moisture from the air. Freeze-dried food is hygroscopic — it pulls water out of ordinary air surprisingly fast. Always reseal straight after use and keep the jar away from the sink and the stove. Once softened, the crispness cannot be recovered, though the food is still fine to cook with.

Should I refrigerate it?

Not for the freeze-dried range — a cupboard is ideal. Nuts and seeds are different: they are high in oil and will turn rancid in a hot kitchen, so refrigerate those in summer.

Is there any added sugar or preservative?

No, except where a product's label says otherwise. Dried cranberries are the one exception — raw cranberries are far too sour to eat, so they are sweetened, and we say so plainly on that product.

Are your products certified organic?

No. We hold an FSSAI Central Licence and an Importer-Exporter Code, and we do not hold organic certification. We would rather tell you that than imply otherwise. What we do claim is what we can stand behind: no added sugar, no preservatives, no added colour, and in most jars a single ingredient.

Do you handle allergens?

Some products contain tree nuts, dairy or sesame. These are flagged on the product page and on the pack. If you have a serious allergy, please read the label carefully and contact us if anything is unclear.

How long will delivery take?

Orders are dispatched within 1 to 2 business days. Delivery is typically 2 to 3 days within Gujarat, 3 to 5 days to metro cities, and 5 to 8 days elsewhere in India.

Is shipping free?

Free on orders above Rs. 799. Below that a flat charge is calculated at checkout based on your address.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. We are IEC registered and ship worldwide from Surat. For overseas orders, message us on WhatsApp before ordering so we can quote shipping accurately.

My order arrived damaged.

Photograph the item and the outer box and contact us within 48 hours of delivery. We will arrange a replacement or a full refund including shipping, and you will not pay return postage.

Do you supply wholesale quantities?

Yes. We supply distributors, retail chains, hotels, bakeries and nutrition brands, in bulk packs larger than the retail range.

Can you do private label?

Yes — custom labelling and packaging under your own brand. Tell us the products, quantities, destination and packaging format and we will quote.

How do I get a bulk quote?

Use the Bulk & Export page or WhatsApp us directly. Include the products, quantity per product, destination country and any certification your market requires — the more detail in the first message, the faster we can come back with real numbers.
